GYPSY DANCE I Jim Calhoun Oil on Canvas Original 36x24 > CONTACT ARTIST This dance was my favorite. As soon as the music began and the dancers appeared in costume, it reminded me of a favorite painting by John Singer Sargent, 'El Juleo: Danse de Gitanes.' Clapping of hands... tamborine... strumming... made me feel like I was watching an animation of the painting; and inspired this painting. |
